Neoclassical Green and Gold Dressing Table
At OE-FASHION Furniture, we utilise the dressing table to introduce curvilinear geometry into the typically rectilinear layout of a luxury bedroom. The Neoclassical Green and Gold Dressing Table envelops the user with its concave front, ensuring all drawers and surface areas are within equidistant reach during use.
Aesthetic Structure & Proportions
The unit is defined by its “Silver-Green” palette, a custom metallic lacquer that reflects ambient light softer than pure silver. The gold leaf ornamentation is concentrated on the structural nodes (legs and mirror crest), drawing the eye to the architectural boundaries of the piece. The inclusion of clear spherical inserts in the leg capitals adds a layer of transparency, referencing Rococo whimsicality while lightening the visual mass.
Construction Logic & Material Behaviour
The curved façade is fabricated from flexible multi-ply plywood, formed in a high-pressure vacuum press. This ensures the substrate remains stable and does not delaminate under the tension of the curved high-gloss finish.
- Crystal Integration: The legs feature solid K9 crystal spheres acting as spacers between the apron and the vertical shaft. These are secured with a central steel tension rod to ensure load transfer without cracking the glass element.
- Surface Protection: The lacquered top is covered by a 8mm tempered glass sheet, cut to the exact kidney radius. This protects the delicate lacquer from perfume oils and cosmetic solvents. See our maintenance guide for lacquer care.
- Chair Engineering: The matching chair is upholstered in sage green satin-velvet with a deep button-tufted back (Chesterfield style). The base is skirted with a heavy bullion fringe to conceal the legs, grounding the seat visually.
Functional Integration & Ergonomics
The concave front allows the user to sit 200mm closer to the mirror than a straight-edged table, improving visibility for detailed grooming. The lower shelf provides auxiliary storage for larger vessels or decorative boxes, keeping the primary workspace clutter-free.
Installation & Project Constraints
The mirror unit is massive and designed to rest on the tabletop with rear bracket support, or be wall-mounted. If wall-mounting, the position of the crystal legs must be levelled perfectly to ensure the table surface aligns with the mirror base.
Bespoke Manufacturing (OEM / ODM)
OE-FASHION Furniture provides extensive customisation for this model.
- Colour Matching: The lacquer can be adjusted to any Pantone colour (e.g., Pearl White, Champagne, or Pale Blue).
- Leg Options: The crystal sphere can be replaced with a solid gold-leafed wood sphere or a marble insert.
- Upholstery: Client may supply COM (Customer’s Own Material) for the chair to match window treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the crystal in the leg fragile?
A: We use solid K9 architectural crystal, which has high compressive strength. It is safe for normal furniture loads but should be protected from direct side impact with heavy objects.
Q: Can the chair be made without the fringe?
A: Yes. We can expose the legs and finish them in matching gold leaf for a lighter, more modern look.
Q: Does the glass top slide off?
A: No. The glass is secured with transparent silicone bumper pads that create friction against the lacquer surface, preventing movement during use.
