Engineering Logic
This system is engineered as contract-grade furniture.
It addresses the critical failure mode of Joint Fatigue specifically associated with asymmetrical frames.
Unlike a symmetrical sofa, a chaise longue experiences uneven torsional forces when occupied, creating a twisting moment at the junction between the backrest and the seat rail.
We resolve this by integrating the OE-Lock™ Multi-Axis Joinery System, which utilises concealed steel corner plates to rigidize the frame against lateral drift.
This methodology aligns with the contract-grade fabrication standards established for high-traffic zones.
Baroque-Style Typology – Aesthetic Structure
Designed as a study in asymmetrical balance, the Baroque-Style Carved Chaise Longue functions as a sculptural element within a suite.
The frame features a continuous curvilinear rail, heavily carved with acanthus and floral motifs, finished in a Patinated White & Silver System.
The upholstery employs a deep-buttoned (capitonné) backrest for ergonomic contouring, while the seat cushion is constructed as a fixed semi-sprung element to maintain a tidy appearance in commercial settings.
Architects may define specific textile patterns and wood finishes through our
bespoke specification process.
Project-Specific Interpretation
In a hypothetical commission for a Heritage Hotel Restoration, the system was adapted to withstand
the specific challenge of Joint Fatigue.
The chaise was specified for a high-use window bay area.
The integration of the OE-Lock™ Multi-Axis Joinery System ensured that the delicate carved legs were structurally isolated from the racking forces of daily use, preventing the common failure of leg fractures.
Construction & Material Behaviour
The selected Jacquard & Hardwood Assembly is bonded to a core engineered
specifically for commercial stability.
- Joinery: Double-doweled mortise connections reinforced with OE-Lock™ hardware.
- Finish: Catalysed lacquer over patina to resist chipping and abrasion.
- Upholstery Details: Individual decorative nailhead trim applied manually for precise alignment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can the orientation be reversed?
A: Yes. As a bespoke manufacturer, we can build the chaise with the arm on either the left or right side to suit the room layout.
Q: Is the fabric durable enough for hotels?
A: The frame is engineered to accept heavy-duty contract fabrics (40,000+ Martindale cycles) including FR-treated jacquards.
Q: Can the wood finish be matched to existing millwork?
A: Yes. We offer a finish matching service to ensure the chaise integrates seamlessly with wall panelling or other casegoods.
