This guide defines the environmental, climatic, and installation conditions required for bespoke furniture systems to perform as designed.
These are not preferences — they are engineering prerequisites.
All installation and lifecycle requirements are defined based on OE-FASHION’s engineering-based quality evaluation framework.
Environment Is Part of the Structure
From an engineering standpoint, furniture does not exist independently of its environment. Humidity, temperature stability, airflow, and substrate conditions directly affect material behavior, joint movement, and finish integrity.
Ignoring site conditions transfers structural risk from engineering into chance.
A furniture system is only as stable as the environment it is installed into.
Humidity Control Is Structural Control
Solid wood and composite assemblies respond continuously to relative humidity. Uncontrolled fluctuation introduces internal stress regardless of craftsmanship quality.
Engineering Threshold:- ±10% RH seasonal stability (museum-grade standard)
- HVAC commissioned before installation
Temperature Stability Prevents Latent Stress
Radiant heating, localized heat sources, or delayed climate activation cause differential expansion between materials.
Risk Factors:- Radiant floor heating without buffer layers
- Sun-exposed surfaces without thermal mitigation
Substrate Compatibility Is Non-Negotiable
Furniture does not float. Floors, walls, and anchoring substrates introduce stress paths into the structure.
