Baroque-Style High-Back Bed

The Baroque-Style High-Back Bed is presented here as a calibrated
vertical sleeping infrastructure, developed for projects requiring
extreme verticality to manage scale in double-height master suites and grand state rooms.

Designed for Royal Suites, Diplomatic Residences, and Penthouse Master Chambers.

    • Dimensions: Site-specific calibration (Headboard heights up to 2400mm+).

    • Materiality: Satin-Finish Textile Assembly on Structural Hardwood Chassis with Gilded Apex.
    • Application: Contract-grade specification for high-ceiling architectural zones.
    • Engineering Focus: Neutralisation of Joint Fatigue (Cantilever Torque).

  • Production Model: OEM / ODM Engineering Commission.

* Artisanal Bespoke · Custom dimensions, materials & finishes available.

Engineering Logic

This system is engineered as contract-grade furniture.
It addresses the critical failure mode of Joint Fatigue caused by the extreme moment arm of the high-back design.
In Royal Suite environments, a standard headboard connection would shear under the leverage exerted by the upper mass.
We resolve this by integrating the OE-Lock™ Multi-Axis Joinery System, which utilises extended steel spine reinforcement to anchor the apex directly to the sub-frame.

For technical details on load-bearing limits and torque resistance, refer to OE-FASHION’s structural specification framework.

Baroque-Style Typology – Aesthetic Structure

Designed to command vertical volume, the Baroque-Style High-Back Bed features a distinctive tapered silhouette that rises to a gilded architectural crest.
The upholstery surface employs a diamond-tufted (capitonné) matrix using decorative rosettes, creating a tensioned grid that reinforces the fabric against sagging.
The form tapers outward at the base, providing visual grounding while the gilded apex draws the eye upward, making it ideal for rooms with ceiling heights exceeding 3.5 metres.
Architects may define specific textile grades and gilding tones through our
bespoke specification process.

Project-Specific Interpretation

In a hypothetical commission for a Diplomatic Residence, the system was adapted to withstand
the specific challenge of Joint Fatigue.
The client required a “Throne-Like” visual impact.
The integration of the OE-Lock™ Multi-Axis Joinery System ensured that the 2.5-metre tall headboard remained structurally inert, resisting the “wobble” effect common in non-reinforced tall furniture.

Construction & Material Behaviour

The selected Satin & Gold Leaf Assembly is bonded to a core engineered
specifically for vertical rigidity.

  • Joinery: Extended vertical tenons reinforced with concealed steel plates.
  • Finish: Hand-carved solid wood crest with multiple layers of bole and gold leaf.
  • Load Behaviour: Base frame calibrated to act as a counterweight to the vertical rise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can the height be adjusted for lower ceilings?
A: Yes. While the typology implies verticality, we can scale the proportion of the taper to fit standard 2.8m ceilings if required.

Q: Is the tufting deep or shallow?
A: We utilise deep-button tufting (capitonné) which requires a thicker foam substrate, ensuring longevity and acoustic absorption.

Q: Does the bed require wall anchoring?
A: For heights exceeding 2200mm, we recommend a discreet wall-cleat system (included) to ensure absolute safety in seismic zones.
